From home improvement and agriculture to livestock management and lawn maintenance, the Tractor Supply Company does it all. With over 1,923 locations across 49 states in the United States of America and over 42,000 employees, this is one of the largest retail chains in America. Tractor Supply Company is even traded as part of the S&P 500, further solidifying its position as one of the most important businesses in America.

Tractor Supply Company was founded in 1938 in Minot, North Dakota. At first, the business functioned as a mail-order catalog that sold tractor parts to farms in the local area. Its first commercial store was founded in 1939 in Minot, marking a moment of change for the business. Following the success of the first Tractor Supply site, stores were opened in Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota between the years of 1941 to 1946. Since then, the company has grown even since a year, expanding its range to cover the whole of the United States of America and generating a staggering $10.62 billion in revenue.

There are three main promotion categories that Tractor Supply usually releases. These fall into 'Holiday', 'Clearance' and 'Online Sale' categories. A holiday promotion will surround a vacation event, like the 12 days of Christmas Exclusions that they run in November and December. Clearance promotions will run towards the end of each season, with Tractor Company trying to clear leftover stock. Finally, Online promotions are irregular promotions released on the website, often pertaining to a specific local site; these can vary incredibly in what they include.

In October of 2021, Tractor Supply was named one of IBD's top 100 Best ESG Companies of 2021, marking a large number of years in a row that this company has taken home some form of business prize. What's more, Tractor Supply contributed to the Future of Agriculture exhibition that supports U.S. farmers in their ongoing progression.

Tractor Supply frequently gives to charity and launches discounts for certan groups within society. Most recently, they gave $200,000 to Animal Rescue Organizations. They also created a Military Veterans and Active Service Members annual day discount serivce for those in the U.S. millitary.
