Reasor’s is a privately owned company that runs retail grocery stores in the northeastern region of the state of Oklahoma. The stores provide customers with various grocery products, dairy and cheeses, fresh produce, meat & deli selections, pantry items and more. Most Reasor’s offer pharmacy services to their customers as well as ATMs, grocery delivery, curbside pickup and other services. Reasor’s now runs 17 locations in the state of Oklahoma.
Founded in 1963, Reasor’s first store was opened by Larry Reasor in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Originally called Red Bud Food Center, the store was focused on low prices, and it was the first independent grocery store to house an in-store pharmacy. The name was changed to Reasor’s in 1972 and they expanded to other cities in Oklahoma over the next several years. Online shopping options began in 2003 and by 2013 Reasor’s was named #25 on Supermarket News’ list of Top 50 Small Chains in the US.
Reasor’s offers weekly ads to its customers, providing deep discounts every day on name brand and store brand items. Some ads also include shorter flash sales, such as 3-Day Sales that include Buy One Get One Free items or discounts on multiple items such as 2 items for $4, 4 items for $5, and more. Reasor’s shoppers can also save by signing up for the Reasor’s Rewards Points Program that provides points for qualifying purchases and prescriptions that can then be redeemed for discounts on fuel purchases.
An announcement was made in November 2021 that Reasor’s would be acquired by Brookshire Grocery Company, which also operates under four other banners in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. The transaction is expected to be closed during the first quarter of 2022 but the stores will continue to operate under the name of Reasor’s.
Spring of 2021 brought an exciting project to Reasor’s as they launched Sally the Salad-Making Robot in three of their locations. This service allows customers to choose the type of salad they want on a touchscreen and the robot will place the items in the bowl. This solution was meant to bring a safe way for customers to build their own salads even during the pandemic.
