American Furniture Warehouse - Store

A privately owned furniture retailer in the USA, American Furniture Warehouse is a mostly Colorado-based chain with two stores operating in Arizona and two in Texas. They are known as the largest furniture retail chain in Colorado, with 10 locations in the state. The stores offer furniture pieces for every room in the house, including mattresses, dining sets, entertainment centers, etc. from top brands such as Ashley, Serta, and Posturepedic. In addition, they sell home décor items at affordable prices.

American Furniture Warehouse - History

In 1975 American Furniture Warehouse was started by entrepreneur Jake Jabs who bought a struggling business in Denver, Colorado, called American Furniture Company. He changed the name, turned the business around, and began opening new stores. Continuing to see steady growth, Jabs has led and been the face of the company for more than 40 years.

American Furniture Warehouse - Promotions

Offering weekly ads to their customers, whether in print or online, American Furniture Warehouse provides regular discounts on their various lines, as well as seasonal sales such as Black Friday Events. The company also offers financing on larger purchases of furniture via the American Furniture Warehouse credit card. If paid along with the terms within an allotted time, purchases are interest-free.

American Furniture Warehouse - News

Although plans were waylaid due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, American Furniture Warehouse has announced that it has revived plans to open a second store in Colorado Springs. That would bring the store count to 11 in Colorado and 15 total.

American Furniture Warehouse - More Information

American Furniture Warehouse is well known in Colorado because of its founder’s affection for zoo animals. With a hint of local fame, Jake Jabs often uses his local television commercials to feature not only furniture, but also his love for exotic animals, particularly tigers—though he doesn’t actually own any tigers himself. He did title his autobiography, “An American Tiger”.
