An American automotive service and supply chain, Pep Boys pride themselves on keeping families going, and safely. Customers can get their cars serviced all in one place, including brakes, tires, oil changes, batteries, belts & hoses, and more. Pep Boys stocks brand-name tires, such as Goodyear, Cooper, and Kumbro, as well as an array of parts and products that may be needed, including ignition systems, steering & suspension, wipers, and even floor mats.
In 1921, four friends from the US Navy saw an opportunity for auto supplies and opened their first store in Philadelphia. Their passion for cars and good customer service brought growth to the business and benefits to their local communities. Even during the Great Depression, the company expanded in the East, to California, and several years later to Texas. In 1992, Pep Boys published their first bilingual catalog in Spanish, and today they have more than 1000 locations in the US and Puerto Rico.
Pep Boys’ logo of three characters, Manny, Moe, and Jack is based on caricatures of three of the original owners. In the early years, these faces were featured on billboards, and then, during the 1980s, plastic statues of these three guys reigned over Pep Boys parking lots all throughout the United States.
