In 1921, four friends from the US Navy saw an opportunity for auto supplies and opened their first store in Philadelphia. Their passion for cars and good customer service brought growth to the business and benefits to their local communities. Even during the Great Depression, the company expanded in the East, to California, and several years later to Texas. In 1992, Pep Boys published their first bilingual catalog in Spanish, and today they have more than 1000 locations in the US and Puerto Rico.
