A leading home furnishings company, West Elm aims to sell affordable, sustainably produced products for the home, such as decorations, lighting, bedding, rugs, furniture, windows, art, garden items, and more. At more than 100 stores in the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK, West Elm customers can purchase home products, the majority of which are designed in-house in their Brooklyn studios, then ethically handcrafted and produced locally and throughout the world.
Launched in 2002, West Elm began in San Francisco, California as part of the Williams Sonoma brand. It started as a catalog and then opened its first store not long after. The company immediately began with a commitment to environmental sustainability as well as ethical production standards. West Elm was proud to be the first home retailer to become part of Fair-Trade USA, supporting community development and healthy working conditions. They went on to open more than 100 stores and now ship to at least 60 different countries worldwide.
