Sentry Foods is a small American chain of independently owned and operated retail grocery stores located in the state of Wisconsin. The stores sell basic grocery items, dairy products, meat, baked goods, frozen foods, fresh produce, snacks, as well as natural and organic products. Some of the Sentry Foods stores have their own associated pharmacies. There are currently 11 Sentry Foods stores that operate across central and southeastern Wisconsin.
The first Sentry Foods was opened in 1953 in Waukesha, Wisconsin, owned and operated by the Godfrey family. The company grew and by the 1980s the majority of Sentry Foods stores were purchased by Fleming companies, which was a major wholesaler at the time. Fleming went bankrupt in 2000 and sold the stores off individually, which means they are all now independently owned and operated.
Ads and promotions change each week at Sentry Foods through their weekly circular. In addition, customers can take advantage of clipless super coupons that provide an easy way to get the best bargains.
