Gordon Foodservice is an American food distributor company that also runs retail stores throughout the United States and Canada. Started in Michigan in 1897, by Isaac Van Westenbrugge, Gordon’s began as a delivery service for butter and eggs using a cart drawn by horses. Ben Gordon married Westenbrugge’s daughter in 1916 and by 1932, he renamed it Gordon Food Service. The service grew into delivery and local stores and now continues as North America’s largest family-managed and privately held food service distributor.
