An American chain of supermarkets located primarily in the Midwest, Country Market has 39 locations across the three states of Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri. Country Market is part of the family of Niemann Foods which is independently owned and operated. The stores sell various pantry products, meats, dairy, frozen foods, baked goods, and much more. In addition, County Market stores offer pharmacies, catering, floral services, and more.
The history of Country Market goes back to 1917 when Ferd Niemann and his brother Steve opened a grocery store in Illinois. By 1930, the brothers were running 10 stores as well as a wholesale operation. 1940 brought the chain’s first supermarket to Quincy, Illinois and the growth continued from there. County Market is one of several grocery store brands now run by the Niemann company.
Country Market customers can save through the store’s weekly ads, digital coupons, Penny Pincher coupon books, web specials, and more. Customers who sign up for a Max Value Card can get access to special coupons that can be loaded on the card. Plus, Max Card shoppers can get special personalized offers when they use the County Market smartphone App.
In an innovative move to create shopping loyalty in 2021, Country Market combined its shoppers’ reward card program with digital mobile games to actively remind customers why it's better to shop at their store.
