Acme Fresh Market is an American chain of retail grocery stores located in Northeast Ohio. They offer fresh produce, meat & seafood, baked goods, pantry items, health & beauty, holiday items, beer, wine, and much more. In addition, Acme provides services such as catering, Hot & Ready easy meals for pickup, floral services, and cake decorating, as well as ExpressCare Clinics in some of their locations.
When Frederick Albrecht opened a small corner grocery store in Ohio in 1891, it was originally called F.W. Albrecht Grocery Company. But not long after, he was inspired by an Acme store in Philadelphia, so he renamed his store Acme. By the 1930s Acme had grown to more than 100 stores and their first supermarket came in 1952. More business changes over the years caused the company to downsize and now they run 16 Acme Fresh Markets in northeastern Ohio.
