PC Richard is an American chain of retail stores that sells appliances, mattresses, televisions, and electronics. It is the largest family-owned chain in its class in the US and its 66 stores are located throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Product lines include kitchen appliances, televisions, outdoor furniture, audio, personal electronics, furniture, mattresses, video games, vacuum cleaners, smart home items and more. P.C. Richard & Son - History

In 1909, ten years after arriving to America from Holland, Pieter Richard opened a hardware store in Brooklyn. Less than a month later, PC’s son, AJ, was born into the family business. AJ grew up helping in the shop and by 1923, after the 9th grade, he dropped out of school to work in the store full time. The company grew into a chain as it expanded into Long Island and beyond. Ownership and operations have remained in the family, now through four generations with PC’s great-grandchildren.

PC Richard & Son is particularly well known for a trademark jingle that was created by Leer Leary, the Soundsmith worker.
