Buy for Less, the parent company sold off the two Uptown Grocery Co markets in late 2020 to Pruett Foods.

The building that the Edmonton Uptown Grocery Co is housed in doesn’t look like a typical grocery store, but favors an upgraded, “industrial chic” environment that is tailored to the comfort of the shopper—including the temperature. The original store founder decided she was tired of being cold in grocery stores, so the building was designed to avoid that feeling of always being in the frozen section.
