Serves: 2-3 Prep time: 15 minutes Cooking time: 45 minutes baked; 3 hours slow cooker Total time: 1-3 hours Ingredients: • • • • 1 (2-pound) bag Mary’s Organic Party Wings, thawed and patted dry 2 tablespoons Natural Grocers® Brand Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Real Salt and Organic Fresh Ground Black Pepper Coconut oil, for greasing rack or slow cooker Southern BBQ: • 3⁄4 cup barbecue sauce of your choice • Half of a 14.5-ounce can Natural Grocers Brand Organic Petite Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies, drained • ¼ cup Natural Grocers Brand Organic Apple Cider Vinegar • 2 tablespoons organic Worcestershire sauce Instructions 1. 2. 3. Parmesan Garlic Sauce: • ½ stick organic butter or Natural Grocers Brand Organic Plant Based Buttery Stick, melted • 1 cup organic grated Parmesan or vegan “Parm” • 2 tablespoons Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Parsley • 1 ½ tablespoons Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Garlic Granules Spicy Dry Rub: Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Seasonings: • 1 tablespoon Chili Powder Blend, Medium • 1 tablespoon Smoked Paprika • 1 ½ teaspoons Ground Cumin • 1 ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder • 1 ½ teaspoons Onion Powder • 1 teaspoon Ground Cayenne Pepper (increase or decrease based on spice preference) • ½ teaspoon Ground Yellow Mustard Seed • ¼ teaspoon Dried Oregano • ¼ teaspoon Ground Thyme Leaf 44 | Health Hotline® 4. Combine ingredients for the sauce or dry rub in a medium bowl and mix well. Add the chicken wings to a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Toss until fully coated. Add sauce or dry rub and toss again. For slow cooker (sauced wings only): Grease inside of slow cooker with coconut oil. Pour in coated wings and sauce and cover. Set on high for 2-3 hours or low for 4-5 hours, or until wings are tender but not falling apart. Optional for crispy tops: Transfer wings from crockpot to a baking sheet and broil for 2-3 minutes, until lightly crisped. For baked wings: Preheat oven to 400° F. Line a large-rimmed baking sheet with parchment for easy clean up. Place an oven-safe cooling rack on top of the baking sheet and grease with coconut oil. Place coated wings on rack and spoon any sauce or rub that is left in the bowl onto the wings. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the wings are cooked through. Serve cooked wings with celery, carrots, and dipping sauce of choice.
