Rancho Markets

Rancho Markets is an American chain of retail supermarkets located in the state of Utah. With a desire to cater to the growing Hispanic population, they curate products specifically for this market including fresh tortillas, specialty cheeses, chorizos, seafood and more. Their sale flyers are produced in English and Spanish and part of their delightful service includes making fresh, Mexican style ice cream right in the store. Many Rancho Markets also have Nuestro Cocina, which are in-store restaurants serving freshly made, authentic Spanish favorites.

Born in 2006, Rancho Markets was founded in Utah by Eli Madrigal, with a desire to meet the needs of the underserved Hispanic population that had been growing in the state of Utah. She opened her first Rancho Markets to meet these needs, and the company quickly grew. Rancho Markets now operate 9 stores that range from Provo to Ogden.

Weekly specials abound at Rancho Markets, allowing customers to save on a multitude of products, such as 2-liter carbonated beverages at 10 for $10, fresh cucumbers 4 for $1, or milk 2 for $5. Rancho Markets offers a free App (on Apple or Android) so customers can get the best savings on all of their purchases.

In the male-dominated industry of supermarkets, Eli Madrigal’s presence as a woman is worth taking note of. She insists on building up her community by working directly with local farmers and 2020 saw Madrigal featured in the women in the business section of a local publication.

Rancho Markets has its own factory in Utah that makes many of the items sold in its stores that are considered vital parts of Latin-American cuisine. This includes tostadas, tortillas, corn flour, and, most importantly, tortillas.
